i can’t remember when was the last time i bought something from MAC. ooh, i remember, last September before my sister’s wedding, i forgot to bring a lipstick from my makeup kit here in SG so i had to rush to MAC Rustan’s to get me a lip color.

anyhoo..yesterday, Cel and I had our girls day out and just had to drop by MAC before we part ways.

here are the stuff I got..saved almost 50sgd from the loot cus of Cel being a member of MAC Pro. not only we were given discounts but we were also given a $20 voucher for the next purchase.

life is just too sweet! :D

** Hang Around Lots… but Then Be Unavailable

The more you interact with someone, the more they’ll like you, says David Lieberman, a U.S. expert in human behavior. He’s right actually. Several studies show repeated exposure to practically any stimulus makes us like it more (the only time it doesn’t hold true is if our initial reaction to it is negative). So forget about being aloof, evasive, and unavailable in the beginning. Instead, find lots of excuses to spend time with him.

Now, pay attention, because this is the tricky part. Just when you’re convinced you’ve won them over and they like you, start being a little less available. And then even less, until they hardly see you at all. ** Don’t Do Nice Things for Them. Let Them Do Nice Things for You

If you do something nice for someone, it makes you feel good on two levels. You feel pleased with yourself and extra-warm toward the person you’ve just spoiled. To justify the effort or expense, we often over-idealize how wonderful he is to deserve it! End result: we like the person more. When someone does something nice for us, we’re pleased. But there are a whole lot of other emotions that come into play — and they’re not all good. Sometimes we feel overwhelmed. When we’re infatuated with someone, we’re desperate to do nice things for him. You’re much better off letting him spoil you.

2009: new friends

2009 has brought me a lot of good things to be thankful for. one of those things i am thankful for are friends.

i met some really great people in 2009 which i will call Lifers. i’ve known them for less than a year yet i know that they’re friends that are definitely for keeps.

we meet every Friday for our usual Friday Fiesta to catch up on whatever (though we also exchange mails on a daily basis) and just be together, doing whatever.

i love these people and i’m really glad i have them in my life.

>> in Manila for my Christmas vacation. It was 10 full days of fun and just being with people dear to you. After the break, it’s back to Singapore and back to work.

>> I got myself a 2009 Life’s Little Instruction Calendar. This is the 1st weekend’s instruction..i never got to update on the succeeding weekends. Teehee.. :D

. is visiting friends again. Hmm..this is becoming a weekly thing.

. is 3 days away from going home again. *i’m getting tired of flying*
. is in weekend-mode now but gets tired thinking of the flight to Manila and back.

On the day of June and Gil’s wedding, inulan na naman sila but this time, we all know that the rain meant they’ll be blessed on their married life. This was one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve attended. First cus I’m part of the entourage and second cus I know what this couple have gone through for most of their bf/gf lives. Even if we’ve known each other for a short time pa lang, they’re like my brother and sister already. (well, we’re technically relatives naman e.)

The truth is, some days, maybe because things have not worked out…maybe because it is taking so long…I doubt if I even have a “happy ever after” of my own..

The truth is, no matter how strong you know you can be, you just want someone to be on your side…maybe not to fight for you but just to be there to hold your hand when you’re done fighting for yourself…

The truth is, sometimes I get so scared at the life ahead of me because it is so uncertain I pray to high heavens to open up the earth and swallow me…

The truth is, sometimes this single girl feels like an outsider looking in when I see how happy my friends are with the one they love…

The truth is I sometimes wonder if I have been wrong all along believing and hoping that my turn will come…

If there is anything I am truly feeling, Delamar expressed it for me. Yes, you may see me always smiling, cheerful and a jester.

But there are times that when I am worried with things, I just lie down on my bed, hoping there’s someone who’d wrap his arm around me and tell me not to worry about things cus he’s there for me..no matter what.

There are times that I would rather stay home than go out with friends because most of them are couples. I sometimes feel that I don’t belong because I’m always the nth wheel. :| don’t get me wrong, I am happy for my friends…and I am not bitter…but a girl can sometimes dream, right?

And just like what Del said, I sometimes think that maybe a happy ever after with someone is not for me. That even if I wait and wait and wait, it will just not come.

Being single is awesome..but sometimes..

Lanz (please visit his blog for more wonderful shots and if you want need a photographer who is not expensive *wink*) attended my sister’s wedding cus i know he wanted to take pictures. he brought his gear but didn’t get the chance to get some nice shots of the couple cus they had to run to my bro-in-law’s place. Lanz had to settle with little moi. i’m sure he was glad i was there to pose for him. hahahaha…
